Re: Summary of Legislation 183rd Annual Grand Communication
Dear Brethren:
In compliance with Chapter 13.04 of the Digest of the Masonic Law of Florida, listed below are the Resolutions enacted at the 183rd Annual Grand Communication held in Orlando, Florida, on May 28, 29, and 30, 2012. This summary should be reviewed by the Elected Lodge Officers and reported to the Brethren in open Lodge at the next Stated Communication after its receipt.
At the 183rd Annual Grand Communication of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida the following Grand Lodge Officers were Elected and Installed:

This report contains three (3) Resolutions adopted which will amend various Regulations.
Regulation Changes Adopted:
1. Resolution to Allow Active Duty Military Personnel to Petition for the Three Degrees of Freemasonry Without Regard to the Time of Residence – The adoption of this Resolution will allow active duty military men, while based or stationed in the State of Florida to Petition for the Three Degrees of Freemasonry once a residency requirement of 90 days is met in the State of Florida and in the jurisdiction of the Lodge rather than the current 1 year residency requirement.
2. Resolution for the Admittance of Ladies of the Order of the Eastern Star to the Masonic Home – The adoption of this Resolution will allow Ladies of the Order of the Eastern Star to be admitted to the Masonic Home of Florida under the Private Pay Plan.
3. Resolution on Chapter 48, Digest of Masonic Law Masonic Home of Florida – The adoption of this Resolution allows the Digest of the Masonic Law of Florida, specifically Chapter 48 (Masonic Home Rules and Regulations) to be amended to reflect the change in the structure of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home that was adopted at the 182nd Annual Grand Communication in 2011; in addition to the change in the laws of the Order of the Eastern Star that discontinued their sponsorship of their members for admittance in the Masonic Home under the Life Care Program.
