182nd Annual Grand Communication
Dear Brethren:
In compliance with Chapter 13.04 of the Digest of the Masonic Law of Florida, listed below are the Resolutions enacted at the 182nd Annual Grand Communication held in Orlando, Florida, on May 30, 31, and June 1, 2011. This summary should be reviewed by the Elected Lodge Officers and reported to the Brethren in open Lodge at the next Stated Communication after its receipt.
At the 182nd Annual Grand Communication of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida the following Grand Lodge Officers were Elected and Installed:

This report contains three (3) Constitutional changes and one (1) New Regulation adopted.
Constitutional Amendments Adopted:
1.
Resolution defining the Grand Master’s authority with regard to admissions to the Masonic Home of Florida. The passing of this Resolution vests the Grand Master with absolute discretion in approving or disapproving the actions of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home as they relate to Fraternal Matters in the admission of residents; and vests the Corporate Board with authority over the actions of the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home as they relate to financial matters in the admission of residents.

Resolution to make our Flagship Charity, the Masonic Medical Reasearch Laboratory, a permanent program of The Grand Lodge of Florida and that a Fraternal Committee be appointed each year by our Grand Master to continue and improve its stability. The appropriation for this Committee’s expenses will be funded from the previous year’s donations from The Grand Lodge of Florida to the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory, and that funding for special fundraising events for the incoming year be funded by, and with the cooperation of, the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory.

Resolution on the Masonic Home Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home shall be composed of the Deputy Grand Master, as Chairman, and nine members. The Board shall be divided into sub-committees prescribed by the Constitution of Regulations of the Grand Lodge and such other sub-committees as shall be deemed appropriate by the Chairman of the Board. The Grand Treasurer and the Grand Secretary shall be Treasurer and Secretary, respectively, of the Board. The members of the Board of Trustees shall be men of experience in the management of or qualified in a profession that acquaints them to the duties and responsibilities of managing and the operation of all aspects of nursing facilities for the aged, including but not limited to accountants, building maintenance, dieticians doctors, food management, health insurance advisors, inventory management, legal counsel, marketing specialists, nurses, pharmacists, and men of similar training and experience.
New Regulation:
13.21.4 The Flagship Charity (MMRL) Committee shall be composed of a Chairman, Administrator, Ten Zone Chairmen, and Ten Deputy Chairmen. The Committee shall promulgate and disseminate information relating to the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL) by educating the Fraternity and public in general concerning the treatment and discoveries of their medical research.
