Where can I learn more about Masonic Philosophy and what educational materials are there for this ? Can it be taught in the Lodge ? How can our Lodge sponsor a Masonic Youth Organization or even the FL Children's Home or some kind of Mentoring group such as BigBrothers, etc ? Does the Masonic Home still help Orphans as they did when they began, if not will they or the GL or Lodges again do this first work ? Thank You... Derek

I just transferred from New Jersey, I am a Master Mason, Mariners Lodge #150. I did some research and there is an Blue Lodge in Brooksville/Spring Hill area. I really miss getting together with the guys. Hopefully soon I will make that phone call and visit the lodge. Just want to say hello to my Florida Brothers.

I just wanted to say thank you, for replying and leading me in the direction I should go. I called the GL and they gave me a contact number for a local lodge. I called and the person that I spoke with told me that I couldn\'t join because I didn\'t know anyone in the lodge, and their wasn\'t anything else I could do. I can understand the reason why he told me that. They want to make sure they know you. I guess this will just be one of things that just wasn\'t meant to be. Thank you anyway...

Hello, my name is Ervin, and I live in southwest Miami, Florida. I am interested in becoming a freemason. My grandfather was a freemason, but he past in my early teens and I can\'t remember any of his brethren. So I was never properly introduced to Freemasonry. I am 27, and I am a fulltime student. I visited a lodge in Miami a few years ago, but I was told that it was illegal for an African-American to be a freemason in Florida. The person I talked to told me that I could only join a Prince Hall lodge, but they aren\'t recognized freemasons. As you can imagine, that discouraged me from seeking membership again. I recently spoke with another Freemason from another state, and he encouraged me too seek membership again. I started researching on the internet about membership, but I could not find anything that said it was illegal for African-Americans to join Freemasonry. Plus, the internet can be quite misleading for someone that is seeking truth. Please forgive me of my ignorance, but I don\'t know any Freemasons in my area that I could ask about membership. My family and I moved to Orange Park, FL two years ago from MI. (Goodrich Lodge #548) I am looking for Lodge information for visitation and transfer. I have not been to Lodge in this amount of time, and now that we are settled in, would like to move forward. On a side note. Does anyone have information about Masonic credit card offer that was sent out some time ago?(late 2007) I have misplaced mine.
